MİNE VARGI - "FILMS CREATE THEIR OWN STARS"

Many people wrote something about the new film ‘O da Beni Seviyor’ (SUMMER LOVE). We waited for the gala and the first day of this film with great enthusiasm and finally that day has come.
Last night, we met at the İş Sanat Sinema Salonu for the gala of the film. Mine VARGI, producer of ’Eşkiya’, shot the film called ‘O’ da BENİ SEVİYOR’ together with the film director Barış PİRHASAN in Malatya this summer. The film participated in the 38. Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, and won awards in three branches. The film will be on display in Turkey on 12 October and afterwards will meet with the cinema fans in Germany and Hungary.
As for me, with the privilege of having shared the excitement of my beloved friend Mine, I started to write about this film and wanted to share with you the occasional discussions we had about this film. Mine has had her heart so much caught in this film that she took great care as to all the characters of the story should be new faces that will be remembered with this film. She has chosen the characters so well in line with the ones in her imagination. The two main young characters of the film urged her to search for new stars with no stories behind. This was after all a romantic film, the experience of love would introduce new faces to the audience. Thus, with its labour pains over, the film was shot with intense works in Malatya this summer.
Why in Malatya? “If you ask this question to us, for us it was a very ‘healthful’ experience as we ate lots of apricots afterwards…” Now to be on the serious side, Mine’s reply to the question is: “Factors like the geography of the city, its texture with different cultures, its inhabitants and the most important of all, the fact that the story has actually taken place in that region carried us there.”
In this film, we will see Lale MANSUR in the role of the Esma’s aunt, the older sister she loves, worships and takes as a model for herself.
LOVE in our lives will always maintain its usual place in the cinema too as the most contemplated topic in all social incidents. With its story and warming up one’s inside, this film has taken a new place in our hearts.
This film is about the love of Esma (Ece EKŞİ) and Hüseyin (Luk PİYES) and it is the story on her growing up. If, by the emotionalism and softness that we live in 90 minutes, this film can make us forget the materialism, logic and violence trying to put its mark on our Century, we would owe this to MİNE VARGI, having a big heart and courage and to her team.

Thank you Mine… For your wisdom and courage…
